Estonian Maritime Rescue Organization
NGO Estonian Maritime Rescue Organization is an alliance uniting voluntary maritime rescue groups in Estonia. The main tasks of the organization are coordinating the collaboration with governmental entities (police, border guard, rescue, etc.), implementing a structured training and certification process for the maritime rescue personnel, coordinating international partnerships and projects, and assist local voluntary groups with documentation, organizational tasks and funding activities.
The Estonian Maritime Rescue Organization was established in April 2010 and today 20 voluntary maritime rescue organizations have joined. Active cooperation has been established with the Finnish Lifeboat Society as well as maritime rescue organizations from Sweden, Denmark, UK, France, Germany and New Zealand. Since October 2010 we are also member of the International Maritime Rescue Federation.
